California – Proposition 11 A proposition to change the authority of redistricting from state lawmakers to an independent 14-member commission comprised of individuals of all political backgrounds. Yes on Prop 11 Citizens for Accountability Passed.
Colorado – Amendment 48 An amendment to define the moment in which an egg becomes an established “person.” Colorado for Equal Rights Protect Families, Protect Choice Did not pass.
Georgia – Amendment 1 An amendment to advance preservation programs for the forests of Georgia through a reduction of property taxes on certain pieces of land. The Georgia Conservancy Georgia School Boards Association Passed.
Maine – Question 1 A proposition to reject funding of Maine’s Dirigo Health Program through a tax on liquor and other drinks. Fed Up With Taxes Health Coverage for Maine Passed.
Michigan – Proposoal 08-1 A proposal that would allow for marijuana use and growth for certain medical purposes. Michigan Coalition for Compassionate Care Citizens Protecting Michigan Kids
Michigan – Proposal 08-2 A proposal to expand embryonic stem cell research, with certain limitations on which embryos are appropriate for use. Stem Cell Research Ballot Question Committee Michigan Citizens Against Unrestricted Science and Experimentation Passed.
Minnesota – Constitutional Amendment 1 An amendment to allocate funding for protecting Minnesota’s water sources, environment, cultural heritage through an increased sales and use tax rate. Yes for Minnesota Taxpayers League of Minnesota Passed.
Missouri – Propostion C A proposition which would require investor-owned electric utilities to use renewable sources of electricity to a level of at least 2% of retail sales by 2011 and 15% by 2021. Missourians for Cleaner Cheaper Energy Passed.
Montana – I-155 The Healthy Kids Act An initiative to provide health coverage to all uninsured children in Montana Healthy Montana Kids Passed.
Washington- Initiative Measure 1000 An initiative to allow terminally ill individuals who have less than 6 months to live to self-administer lethal medication if it is prescribed by a doctor. Yes! On I-1000 The Coalition Against Assisted Suicide Passed.
