The committee has done a great deal of work on veterans' mental health issues, including holding hearings on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and veteran suicide. In June, the Health Subcommittee approved legislation that would expand the VA's mental health services for family members of veterans. It has also held hearings and other oversight actions involving the VA's manipulation of data regarding veterans' suicide rates.
