Energy
Schock supports increasing the mixture of ethanol in gasoline from 10% to 15%, and then eventually to 20%. In a January 2008 statement on the issue, he said “While many people are waiting for E85 ethanol gasoline to take off in the marketplace, it will take a long time to become commonplace because of the new infrastructure needed to accommodate its widespread usage. I, too, support the manufacture of more vehicles that are equipped to burn the E85 ethanol blend, but we don’t have to wait to use a significantly larger percentage of ethanol.” Schock has said that if elected to Congress, he would introduce legislation to increase the ethanol blend.[1]
