Energy

  • Teague strives to make New Mexico the alternative energy capital of the nation. He supports the U.S. independence from foreign oil by adopting renewable energy sources. He supports tax credits for establishing wind farms and solar mirrors. He also supports the applications of scientific research of turning algae into bio-fuel to make for cheaper alternative energy source than corn.

Health

  • Teague plans to cover every American, practice preventative health care, and provide affordable prescription drugs. He will dedicate to extending the benefits of coverage only members of the Congress enjoy to all Americans. He will work to expand Medicaid and SCHIP for lower income families, while increasing the age to 25 for young adults part of family coverage. In terms of prevention, he advocates increasing school's health standards, comprehensive health plans that cover preventive services, and providing tax incentives to employers to invest in the health of their employees. For prescription drugs, Teague tries to abolish the law that prevents Medicare from negotiating drug costs with drug makers, and he also supports safe, imported prescription drugs from Canada and Mexico.
