Biography
OBERWEIS, Jim, an entrepreneur from Illinois; graduate from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana; received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business; serves as Chairman of Oberweis Asset Management; serves as Chairman of Oberweis Dairy; member of the Illinois Republican Party Finance Committee and the Kane County Republican Advisory Board; unsuccessful candidate for the Republican nomination for United States Senate for Illinois in 2002 and 2004; candidate for the United States Congress for the 14th district of Illinois in 2008.

Mr. Oberweis believes that there should be reduced regulation for nuclear power because "it has effectively shut down the growth of one of the cleanest, safest, most affordable sources of energy we have[1]."

Mr. Oberweis says that we must move more aggressively to produce and shift toward ethanol-based fuels[1].
Environment
Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
Mr. Oberweis believes that ANWR should be opened for opened for exploration and drilling, saying that "we could draw as many as 10 billion barrels of oil, the rough equivalent of 20 years' worth of imports from Saudi Arabia."

Healthcare
Mr Oberweis's health care plan is to move away from a third-party payer system and create a Tax-free Health Savings Account.
