NADER, Ralph. Born on February 27, 1934, in Winsted, Connecticut. Graduated from Princeton University, 1955; Harvard Law School, JD 1958. US Army for six months in 1959, attorney. Professor of History and Government, University of Hartford 1961-1963. Staff, Assistant Secretary of Labor, 1964. Founder, Public Citizen. Third party Presidential Candidate 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004.

Ralph Nader is against using nuclear power. In an interview with Frontline, he says "nuclear power was too hazardous, too costly, and unnecessary to provide electricity for our country."

Ralph Nader supports using renewable energy instead of nuclear and fossil fuels. During the Frontline interview, Nader said: "We get it from solar. You want me to give you a book that shows how realistic solar is? You've got wind power, you've got biomass, you've got photovoltaic cells, you've got tidal, you've got all kinds of technologies now moving toward commercial viability."

Ralph Nader supports a single-payer health system. In a press release during his 2000 campaign, Nader said that "Our country needs full Medicare for everyone with free choice of doctors and hospital by patients," and that "Any health care payment system should also stress prevention of disease and injuries." During an interview with Democracy Now! he said that US health care should "look like full Medicare for everybody, whereby the government is the payer."
